Possibilities alumni and the communities they transform benefit from Possibilities Programs and Services.

Their work impacts thousands of people each year with positive community change. Our prime program, Inside Out Community Leadership, is a 3-part program that increases confidence and builds skills for working with others, and motivates participants to create innovative, needed change in their communities. Inside Out Community Leadership provides ongoing mentoring and support during and after the program for all participants and alumni. Possibilities Alumni Communities

Some of the ways Possibilities’ alumni engage & transform our communities:

  • Teach, coach, volunteer and mentor students at local schools
  • Offer truancy counseling for students and families
  • Offer financial counseling for seniors
  • Create formal neighborhood associations
  • Serve as Board of Director members for local non-profits
  • Volunteer for church programs
  • Lead a local STOMP group
  • Volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Doctors Without Borders
  • Volunteer to improve foster care and promote adoption
  • Volunteer for the NAACP Youth Advisory Counsel
  • Serve as the President of OKC NAACP
  • Provide job training and life skills
  • Provide an after school program for teens, and healthy lifestyles information for the community
  • Work with multi-neighborhood collaborations/coalitions to plan and acquire resources
  • Write and secure grants for lighting, signage, and landscaping
  • Hold regular community building events i.e. block parties and movie nights
  • Organize and hold regular neighborhood clean-ups
  • Serve as block captains and deliver neighborhood newsletters
